Upgrading Galvanized Pipes to Heavy-Duty Copper in Lincoln Square
Horizontal Pipe Replacement in Chicago
Unfortunately, much of the Chicago area is still plagued with galvanized pipes. But we can help, just like we did for this homeowner in Lincoln Square. After taking a thorough look at this mid-century home, we proposed to remove the existing horizontal galvanized steel, and replace it all with new, heavy duty copper lines. We also upgraded the pipe size to allow for optimum water flow throughout the home, used special isolation fittings for connections to the existing water supply lines, installed new valves, and added proper supports for all piping to ensure structural integrity.
Equipment Installed
- New copper water lines, constructed of heavy wall Type “M” copper
- Special isolation fittings
- Supports for all piping
- Shutoff ball valve
- 2 frost-proof valves
- New valves
